I was diagnosed with PCOS early. For me, as for many of the 15% (!) other women with the disease, birth control pills were the “solution”. Until I had a blood clot.
Then I had to quit the pill and my body went into crisis mode. The symptoms came from all sides. I was well followed up for one illness in one instance, another somewhere else. But no one saw the full picture of the disease.
We should expect more than symptom management and outdated solutions. We need someone who sees the big picture, interprets contexts and applies what we've actually learned from modern medicine. This is where Livity comes in — a service I want all the people I love to have and that I'm really proud to be helping develop.
In my first Livity report, the doctor wrote to me that he would look into the level of inflammation in my body. He gave me measures to follow until the next follow-up in 3 months. In addition, he wrote: “Want to go all-in, buy a blood glucose meter. The goal is as stable blood sugar as possible.”
That's why I now walk around with a sensor on my arm. It doesn't work to say to me that “small things are not good for health,” because I know that. But watching your blood sugar skyrocket and then crash straight down? It's effective -- especially because it's a piece of advice that's been given on the basis of what I'm motivated by: understanding consequences and seeing data.
Livity is a service that sees the whole of you and gives you advice that is actually tailored to your health, motivation and lifestyle. A supplement and support to Helsenorge, for those who do not want to wait until you get sick or are tired of just getting well enough.
